sounds like one of the actuators is sticking or a door is not closed properly, lock it and check the door buttons are all down, if one of them lags behind its likely to be the culprit.

It could be anything from a sticking button to a dead actuator/broken wire. If you manually lock the proud one the rest might work

Generic motors fit the BX with NO modification at all - may fit Xantia. They are available from Maplins for less than £10 new and come in 2 types - 5 wire for doors with key locks and 2 wire for those without.

I had this problem in my ZX. Two of the wires under the little flap in the tailgate had tiny nicks in them and were shorting each other out. Two bits of insulating tape later and everything was fine again.

Hi all

Its a relativly EASY fix but a bit fiddly!!

If all actuators are working fine then its IS the PLUG on the door lock INSIDE the door.

Remove door trim, peel back the inner coating, remove the multiplug that plugs into the lock mechanism, spray with WD 40 or equivalent, and then plug back in!! I've repaired a many Xantia with NON working locks to cure it with this remedy.. To be sure, do both front doors.. NO need to do the rears.. Luckily the Xantia doesn't seem to suffer the Broken Wires between A piller and door like its similar friend the 306!!

Good luck.. But I'd bet a pretty good pint its that causing the problems!!
