xantia front and rear lights suddenly stopped working

xantia front and rear lights suddenly stopped working. I have checked all fuses and are ok. power coming into the switch arm. Indicators work ok.
Any sugestions please.

Is there more than one an auxilluary supply lead connected to the battery? if so check for good connection.

age of car would be nice, put as much data on the car as possible it makes a diagnosis much easier

The xantia is 1.9 td 1999. V reg. 5 door

You know there is power on the switch - and the fuses are ok.
But have you checked there is power on the fuses when lights switched on ?

Could hardly be wear or corrosion on a '99. Believe a connector has parted its place somewhere.

Yes have checked this and the fuses seem to be ok with lights on and off.

Could it be a the relay? Where is the relay for the front and rear lights situated? xantia 1999 td.

What you mean by "fuses ok with lights on and off" ??

What I meant was you to check with a testlamp that you really have a beefy and good +12V on the fuses when lights are switched on. This means you put one side of the test lamp to each fuse in turn - and the other side of the test lamp to ground (chassis). The testlamp should of course light up.
Its very important to know if you have a +12V on the fuses - as this is a milestone in further fault tracing.

No relays are involved if there are fuses for each lamp function. Unless of course previous owners have messed around ...

This fault rings a bell.
The wiring loom that passes along the bottom of the radiator is a favourite for very strange electrical faults that affect the lights.
