Seems a good chunk more expensive (£556.49 for clutch, pressure plate and release bearing/slave cylinder - Vs £475 for the same plus DMF I've just bought. (Valeo branded)

And if so, will you replace it with the same? Or will you replace it with a standard clutch? In Australia, the clutch conversion kit is quite expensive, but it means that future clutch replacements will be a lot cheaper.
In both my early 406 and my 307, I opted for a single clutch. But I’m not convinced that I’m capable of doing the job, so I had mechanics do both cars. They were expensive jobs! But they were done by different mechanics.
The 406 was done by a person who knew Peugeots. The clutch was replaced in 2013 or 2014 and it is still perfect in operation.
The 307 was done by someone who is a good mechanic, but isn’t a Peugeot person. He said he was willing to learn about Peugeots, but the clutch on the 307 is really rough to use. It’s hard to take off from a standing start without the car shuddering.
I feel like a novice driver who has no idea how to drive a manual car! It’s the complete opposite to the 406. My hope is that the clutch will die quickly and that I’ll be able to get it replaced by someone who can get it working without shuddering. I don’t know if this shuddering is built into the replacement clutch or if it’s just a bad job of installing the clutch. Hopefully it isn’t built into the car having been changed from a dual mass clutch to a single mass clutch. I suppose only time will determine that. Or maybe I don’t know enough about the clutch to answer the question.

There is a slight difference in power and if your like me you might feel a little vibration not much but I did , fuel difference, not much , life span solid will be longer , dual mass smoother as in drive , gear change, but I'd say the solid is a 8.5 out of 10 , dual is a 9, If I needed another clutch I'd go solid , if you tow stuff , solid all day .

Is what I was once told true, that in the UK, you're never more than 100 kilometres away from the sea? If it is true, then I'm not so surprised about the rust problem. Here, people who live inland, like I do, are generally unwilling to buy cars that have lived in coastal areas for any length of time.

Congratulations! You just described my 307 to a T.Diesels make quite severe torsional vibrations between power strokes and my understanding is that at idle speed in particular these are pretty harsh for the gearbox to deal with.
I've never even seen a 306 that wasn't an automatic transmission model! If you hadn't told me that you'd changed a clutch in one, I could have gone through life believing that the 306 only ever came out in automatic transmission varieties.I've done clutch changes in the past (including the 306
