I don't have knowledge of the Peugeot, but the issue of a loose connection is known with several makes of car.
I doubt the piece of plastic holding the cable to the floor will cause an issue with the air bag light, but an intermittent loose connection in the plug and socket almost certainly will. Check for a good electrical connection within. Look...

Okay, I have a Renault 2.2rt D. It has covered 157,000m and has a complete Renault history, every 6,000 miles. It has had a lot work done in the past all by Renault.
Recently, I have had a rubbing noise sounding. The quicker I travel, the louder it gets. It ease's off completely if I steer to the left but gets worse if i steer to the right...

Not sure if your still checking this, my 2002 laguna 1.9 DCI just been in to get a slipping clutch replaced. I was told there was now a warrenty recall on the ABS system as water has been getting into the system... I have also been getting the ABS warning light on the dash !. Hopefully my car is ok, its just gone in today for the clutch !!.......

Module Inside Laguna

Whilst trying to troubleshoot my rear screen problem found an electrical module near the fusebox/relay area. It was pushed up behind the trim and has two connectors with wires leading from it. Anyone know what its for/do ? Nothing in the Haynes manual.

Start by looking for a broken wire at the point where they leave the body and enter the door, because they have to bend when the door is opened broken conductors at this point are a comon occurence.

Hi
We have fitted a reconditioned engine into a
'J' Reg. Renault 21.
Now, when we try to get it to run, it runs for a few seconds and then stops.
The ECU has been checked and is OK.
We wondered if it was anything to do with the immobiliser.
If anyone has any ideas we would be most grateful.

I would suggest you do a search on the net for tuning centres. I found a really good one once, even though i wasn't looking for it, unfortunately i cannot remember the url or where i found it. It had exhaust pipes for putting in place of catalytic converters to get back 20HP, mod. chips for the ignition system computer to get 10HP extra and so...

I don't know for certain, but this usually means the rheostat has failed. This is a typical problem on VW's and about £60 to replace.

Is the hydraulic ram seperate (bolted) to the rack or is it integral, looking at the price it look's like it could be integral, the leak will either be in the ram or the valve, if it's a bolt on ram you may be able to obtain just that part, if the valve is at fault you should be able to replace it alone, is the vehicle high in miles or age...

Hello. I'm just visiting from the Citroen forum. I must say you Renault and Peugeot fellah's seem to suffer a lot less problems than us, Hmmmmm...
Anyway, overheating problems can be caused by a number of simple things, and don't worry about your fan not cutting in, this is reasonably common on diesels as they tend to run cooler on idle, I think...

I have discovered the thermostate is not located where i thought it was, I thought it was located on the front right of the engine in the housing with all the sensors i have found it is not. Does any one know where it is is it behind the water pump? the car is a 2.0 rt auto safrane it has a 12 valve engine. thanks

Espace 2.0i No power on cold startup

Had a vaguely similar problem inthat engine was very rough on cold start and wouldn't pull properly. I also replaced temp sensor to no avail but eventually found problem was caused in a break in the wire leading to the sensor. Hope this helps if it isn't too late now!

This is a very very common problem usually caused by leaking bonnet vent, it has happened to me and still does on occasion.
Best bet is to use silicon sealant round the vent and even the spark plug cover.

R19 1.8 16v, 1994. Car starts to misfire, and runs on 3 cylinders. Upon investigation, water around plugs 2 and 3 causing misfire. Definately from the cooling system, although no water pipes etc run near, and plugs have a plastic shield over them. Suggestions so far include core plug problem, or maybe cracked head.

Hi Guys.
I'm after some help.
The Engine Oil Pressure gauge has failed on my Clio 16V.(3rd one from right)
I get no change at any engine revs. In Fact it doesn't even move anymore.
The rest of the gauges are all fine and a quick check of the fuses looks ok.
Where about on the engine does the gauge enter?
What sort of fix is there for this?

Check out on the common faults & fixes section on slow or no starting. In the second half there is mention of a starter relay. Although the posting refers to a BX your problem sounds like a typical starter relay failure. Could you please post & advise if this is the case?
