After returning to the 504 to continue work this week, I heard squelching sounds when I led across the engine. This is very pronounced, and bouncing up and down on the front of the car shows its coming from the struts. My question is would both struts suddenly leak, in one week, after not driving anyware (its not been anyware for 10 years anyway!) ? There is no obvious fluid loss, puddle or likewise.
Does anybody know how these come out, there is not a bolt/clamp on the bottom like a modern car. Is it a matter on compressing the spring and hammering like hell, as I assume the bottom of the strut sits in a cup?
