Suspension Xantia

Post by ghostrider »

I have a rather strange problem with my '97 Xantia 1.9TD, the suspension works just fine, although it might benefit from some hydraflush.
The odd thing is every morning when I set off I find that the bit of plastic linking the H/c to the anti roll bar at the back has become disconnected [|)], now I thought that it was just that road dirt had worn away the socket in the plastic so that it just fell off, I replaced the plastic bit but the problem remains, once it is reconnected it all works fine.
Does the condition of the anti sink sphere have any effect? The suspension has not dropped overnight so I presume it is reasonably OK
Thanks Pete

Have the balls that the plastic connects to worn? Are your linkages stiff?
Most probably the linkages have become stiff and want lubricating / freeing off.

Thanks Kowalski it could well be the balls on the H/C. I freed off the linkages about a week ago, I seem to remember a nut holding the arm with the ball in place do you reckon its possible to change it without taking the H/C off the car?
