Xsara & OBDII compliance

Post by LeFrog »

I'm looking to treat myself this Christmas with some diagnostic software to run from my laptop.
Can anybody confirm two things:
1. Is the Xsara OBDII compliant?
2. Does it use the ISO comms protocol?

Phone ESB automotive on 01509 853 502
They market Scantool (a US product) - search for Scantool on Google - I understand that from 01/01/2001 ALL new cars sold in Europe have to comply with OBDII. Your's is a 2000 model. It may comply. If so it is ISO. The web has details of the OBDII connector pin outs which if your car has it is an indicator that it complies. Speak to ESB, they will advise. The box, two cables and the software come to £85 approx.

Well after getting the software, hardware & cables, I discover that my Xsara is probably not compliant. The pin config suggests it is, but the software just doesn't work.
