206 Optimal temp

Post by xantian »

Does anyone know the optimal temperature of a 206 1.4 LX? Mine seems always stop or increase very slow after reaching about 75 deg. But very the car moves at a low speed like in the traffic jam. It'll will goes up to 90 deg. Is it ok?

I don’t own a 206, but what your describing sounds normal. If the gauge is between 75 and 85 degrees everything is fine, their not that accurate and if you looked at a similar car then it may show a different normal working temperature.
The engine relies on a good air flow through the radiator to cool the water, so in a traffic jam the temperature will increase. Also long as the cooling fans in front of the radiator kick in and it doesn’t go much above 90 it will be okay.
