S*ds law and that clutch clip

Ok so my comments on another thread to the effect that s*d was elsewhere the other week immediately came back to haunt me.
it's sunday afternoon, new VSX in bits trying to fix air con, blown instrument panel lights, non working tacho etc, wife rings to say other xantia clutch pedal gone to floor, loads of bits of white plastic and metal clip on floor as well[:(] [:(].
anyway I'd already read up on this one so lacking a spare clip I went to the link to the Xantia-L group where Lez had a solution involving a bit of 2mm steel strip. Made one with a slight mod that enables you to bend the clip to shape before fitting it to the end of the cable. seems Ok so far will keep you posted.
Would a dimensioned drawing or maybe even getting a local metal basher to run up a few be an idea?
