Hi,
After a recent head skim on an N reg, Xantia 1.8 16v, the car will now refuse to run. I have timed the engine up with the appropiate timing pins on the cams and block, while it turns over it tries to fire but also back fires !! It has the wet liner block too, could this warp too??
Any ideas any one?? Thankyou in advance

the block wont warp -
If it did, you would likely get hydraulic lock from coolant in the cylinders.
As you have timed the axles using lockpins - you would think you're dead on.

Shane (Australia) has been there - tried it - and found a very interesting issue on timing the cambelt on Xantia's. It's at the buttom of this story things are interesting :
