406L upgrade to Central Locking

Having had '93 405 GLD with central locking, the swop - '96 406 LDT is without and it's a pain.
1) I assume it would be a simple bolt-on of the central locking equip't in the doors to standard fixings. Am I right?
2) What's involved re wiring. Or is there more involvement - like a new blip receiver etc.
