I have recently got a 406LTD without rear head restraints - just a blocking cap. I want to fit head restraints but ned to swop the blanks for the inserts with the release levers.
I've not been able to identify what's keeping them fixed to the tubes that the head rests slide into. I assume the release lever inserts will be same fitting method. Anyone know the trick?

Ive never had a 406 back seat apart mate, So I cant help with that.
When I re built my leather 405 seats onto electric frames, The head restraint inserts had a large metal R clip that held them in to the seat frame.
The clip just slides in a groove in the blank / insert.
Simple to do, Right so & so to get at them.

I have succeeded in removing blanking caps. Pushing the upholstery two and a half to three centimetres down the tubes, there is a paul/tab that needs pushing in to allow cap to be lifted out. The inserts have similar tab.
Saw a picture on eBay which gave the clue as to where to look.
Thanks again PL
