Help needed please Jon (update)

Post by bernie »

Phoned up GSF in Portsmouth, ask for spheres for my Xantia estate hydractive. Fronts and accumulator in stock,I'll have to order the back ones.
Arrived at shop an hour later sorry no accumulators in stock but I'll get one in[:(!][:(!]
As to the front ones the computer and the book don't match so phones up Expert in Xantia spheres who says N45332. These I bought.
I get home, look in the latest (04) catalogue which states N45334
So which are the correct spheres for my car?
As an aside I see you sell a N98715 SPHERE RECHARGER TECHNOSIR RECHARGING RIG 129.00 .
Can you tell me a bit more about it as it may be better to recharge the 8 spheres than buy new?

hmmmm all sounds a bit depressing.
N45332 are non hydractive fronts. N45334 are Hyractive fronts. Definately.
The sphere charging machine. OK, if you were doing a lot of recharging, it may be worth it, but remember that you will need to rent/buy a bottle of liquid nitrogen from your local BOC to go with it. And for every sphere you need to fit a recharge nipple (valprex valve) which are £4.50 each.

I reckon up Bernie's total as 23 spheres. It might well be time to buy that machine!

Thanks Jon.
Good thing I checked with you, I was planning on fitting the fronts today.[:(]
So I'll take them back tomorrow[:(!][:(!]
If I could confirm my spheres then Jon
Front N45334 x2
Rear N45370 x2
Accum. N45304 x1
Front hydra. N45322 x1
Rear hydra. N45354 x1
Rear anti-sink N45356 x1
Are these correct?
As to the jig, yes your right would be expensive. (but not for 23 spheres if they all needed doing)[:D]
Thanks Jon

Aha! Another statistic of Citroen ownership. Perhaps we could do with a "sphere smiley" to add to posts and profiles.
Surprised at Portsmouth getting it wrong, as they're normally pretty reliable. If you ever need someone to pop in and check before travelling over then I seem to be passing Paulsgrove fairly frequently at the moment, Bernie. Tom knows how to contact me. Even if it is for a Xantia...

For the record, I have nothing against the Xantia (Even the Coal injected ones with the supplementary boiler.)
