Doin' Xantia Drop Links

Unread post by Evodad »

Simple question for a simple job, but it might save a bit of time.
Is it best to have the car height on "high", "normal", or "low" before jacking the car up (both sides)& doing the job?

Did mine on high no probs. Jack both sides up to prevent twisting the roll bar. Get the angle grinder handy.....
Damn difficult to jack both side of a Xantia up at the same time without it being on high, unless you've got a lift or pit!

Set the car on high, jack the car up enough to get the wheel off give the threads a good cleaning. Just loosen the nuts a bit, and then set the car to low to take the pressure off the anti roll bar. If you are completely replacing the drop links it may be just as quick to get a nut splitter on the job.
