Unread post by smashymike »

Xantia 1.9TDSX (95N) - needs someone who knows their stuff cos i've got an ABS light on, fairly frequent ticking noise from front of the ar and am also sure that timing belt should be replaced (cars done 76k). Any gooduns in my are that can be recommended. I've checked out a few posts on the forum and gleaned that i can most probably check out ABS and renew accum sphere myslef but timing belt - noooooowaaaaayyyy!!! Roughly how much would a timing belt change cost me??

Try Centreville Garage, Heaton, near the NEI Parsons (Rolls Royce?) factory.
Expensive but with a great reputation.
Typical costs at other indies might be three hours at £30/hour plus £30 for the belts(s)?

any car garage should be capable of changing a timing belt, prices will vary, in your area i can also recomend centreville garage possibly not the cheapest but prices are fair and they are very proffesional, and they only work on citreons so they know there stuff.

I've used Bonnello Auto Services on Stepney Bank in Byker for things in the past. The owner is Citroen trained, knows his stuff and isn't too expensive.

Reading should be nearer 1000 ohm (think limits for ABS ECU are 900 - 1300 ohms).
