2016 Peugeot 208 TPMS/Air Temp

Unread post by Draco87 »

Hello everyone,

I am new here and hope someone can help me solve this problem I have. I recenlty bought this 2016 Diesel 208, however, it has two problems niggling at me.

Problem 1 - the outside air temp is always showing a negative number which changes with each drive cycle. I purchased a new temp sensor and fitted it to the car now it shows a double dash -- on the screen and reads 215 degrees via the OBD scanner. I believe the wires need swapping but in both scenarios it never read the actual outside temp. Unless I need to reset something or drive but i'm unsure.

Problem 2 - TPMS under-inflated fault- this fault comes and goes when it feels like to wind me up :) . All the tires are at the correct pressure and have been checked several times with no change. When the car is turned on, the TPMS warning light comes on along with the "SERVICE" light. Switch the car off the warnings dissapear (not everytime though) I have plugged the OBD scanner in and no faults ever show up with the light on or not. I have also used the TPMS reset via the screen to register the tire pressure which did work for two days! Then it came back.

Upon research I have found this is also related to the outside temp sensor in the mirror. Since swapping the sensor the TPMS/SERVICE light are always now on (possibly need to swap wires).

another finding was that the plug isinde the dorr may need cleaning and reseating, but have not yet taken to door card off to look.

If anyone has any sugestions to the above problems any help will be greatly apriciated.

Thanks

Craig

When you have the doorcard off check the actual wiring as it goes through the car door to the body as it is not uncommon to have breakages occur there. :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!
