Any alternatives to Hydraurincage for Xantia?

Unread post by octinum »

We're back at the shop after driving to see what needs attention for a few weeks - hopefully, the spare Hydractive 2 electrovalve will restore Hydractive, accompanied by the last remaining leak I could detect.

While at it, I thought I'd flush the hydraulics. But of course the proper cleaning fluid is impossible to get in Turkey. So I'm wondering if there is an alternative to clean the system. Perhaps an additive to LHM to clean things up? Or another mix I could replace some LHM from the tank with? Has anybody seen such "trick"?

None, the development of LHM+ was reportedly the reason you did not need it any more.....

An interesting question, I'm sure one of our Xantia experts will be able to help you out. :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

I just did :)

LHM+ has mild detergents in it, LHM (old) did not, hence no need to use Hydro-carnage

Change LHM+ in sort flush periods (2/3 times) is what Total recommend.

Ah, perhaps "milder" detergents so it is both fine to ride on LHM+ and use it to flush. Sounds like the older solution was really "carnage" in terms of cleaning power (hence, drive for a few thousand kilometers and flush/refill), but if LHM+ is our solution, I'll take it. Thank you! :)
