clutch on a 205 xs

Hi there
Can anybody tell me what replacing the clutch on a 91' 205 xs is like. It has started to slip when pulling away had a look and it doesnt look like it can be adjusted anymore pedal is also really hard to opperate and goes down quite far to the floor so i am going to assume that the clutch is on its way out. the car has done 90,000 miles with no sign of a clutch being done is it normal for them to wear out around this milage[?]
also are there any special tools i will need or any ways of saving time on changing the clutch bearing in mind i will be doing it at home[?]
