Engine code to Vin verification
I'm trying to see if the engine code matches the Vin of my 2001 xsara 1.6,ice sorted through documents and found nothing any ideas on how to decode them.I also need to know if the engine code has 6 or 10 digits

I didn't see the engine code in that site Mick. Basic data on the engine (power) but that's about it.
The engine code is characters 6,7 and 8 of the VIN. Type "PSA engine XXX" into google and you will get all the info you need.
The engine is typically based on a single "block" but then there are different variations attached to that block. Which is why you get different PSA codes for basically the same engine.
