Citroen C4 grand picasso 2011 vehicle speed sensor A

Good Morning All,
My Cars: 2011 Citroen C4 GP Diesel HDI VTR PLUS 7 Seater
Had a problem this morning with car not going into gear this morning and saying gear box fault and service light lit up. Got an OBD 11 and checked out with that. The only code showing was P0500 $78 Generic Vehicle Speed Sensor A. About 20 mins later it started up ok and all seems to work fine. Don't know if its the downpour of rain we have had after such a long spell of sunshine that caused issue or not. In case there is an issue with P0500 can someone please tell me where the Vehicle Speed Sensor A is.

That's an odd one - AFAIK there's no separate sensor, it's just inferred from the wheel speeds. Were there any ABS warnings? If your scanner can read live data then you need to look in the ABS ECU and see what the wheel speeds are. It may be that the ABS ECU is at fault, and is not correctly reporting the speed to the engine ECU.

Hi Richard, Many thanks for the Info. Will take a look at that. Just been out and started it again and been for a ride round the block a few times and no issues at all. Yep sure is an odd one that.
