2018 Peugeot Expert P2A00 code

Morning guys,

Just after filling up with diesel yesterday my van popped up with the orange spanner and orange engine/! light. My van is a 2018 2.0 120.

I borrowed a mates code reader and it returned P2A00, O2 Sensor Circuit Range/Performance Bank 1 Sensor 1.

Is this likely to just be the O2 sensor? A bit of googling suggests it may be Nox sensor related, but those cases seem to have come with other faults as well.

Anything I can try to narrow it down? I'm a marine mechanic/electrician by trade, mostly my engines are petrol outboards, and even the diesels I see haven't got as much emissions gubbins as these modern road diesels.

It may just be a dirty connector in the O2 sensor circuit, worth checking all the connectors on the sensors and the fuseboxes to be sure you haven't got some corrosion issue.

Sometimes vacuum leaks can cause this , even an exhaust that's blowing too , its sounds like the sensor is working to slow , so might be time to replace it

I reset the code, and even with just the ignition on and the engine not running, it comes up after 30 seconds or so. So dont think its a leak related.

Do we think sensor 1 bank 1 is the o2 sensor right up next to the turbo?

Quick update,

After the inital code read that gave me the O2 sensor fault code, I couldn't get any codes from it, just the orange spanner and engine light everytime I turned the igntion on. My mate with a posher code scanner had been away, but me and him looked at it this afternoon, and his brought up a load of old codes. Deleted them all, but one came back. P15B3, calculated additive level low. By coincidence he had a litre of Eolys fluid left over from another job. Got that in to the tank with the help of a youtube video, which we didnt watch the end of (I'll come back to that ), cleared the fault and took it for a drive. Lights came back on. Turns out you need to tell the van that the Eolys tank has been filled. Did that and all is now well, I probably will get some more fluid to make sure the tank is topped up in case it causes any problems in the future, but for now it's good to go.

Thanks all for the help, seems the O2 sensor code was in there from before, so was a bit of a red herring, now need to take the O2 sensor back to GSF tomorrow.

Every car with the aditive tank has to be reset with diagnostic tool , i only found that out with help from a member on this forum a few yr ago, dont leave it to long , check dpf aswell , if its clean and soot level is low , reset that too only if its content is below 15% as your tank is full your be good for a long time
