Hi all,
Looking for some advice on an unusual ETG6 issue that started immediately after a service today.
I have a 2014 Citroën Grand C4 Picasso, 6-speed ETG6.
The car was working normally in automatic mode before the service. The service was mainly an engine oil change (no gearbox/transmission fluid was changed).
I also asked the garage to reset the “Particulate filter additive level low” warning, as I had recently refilled the Eolys/PAT additive myself. They connected diagnostic equipment but the warning was not successfully reset.
Since collecting the car, the ETG6 will no longer stay in automatic:
With ignition on/engine off, I can select N, A and M normally.
With the engine running and stationary, I select A and the dash initially shows A1.
After approximately 5 seconds, without the car moving or me touching the selector, it changes itself to M1.
No beep, warning or additional error message.
Manual mode works normally and the gears change correctly.
On one test drive it initially changed from A1 to M2 while driving; subsequent attempts went straight to M1.
OBD voltage is stable at around 13.5 V with the engine running.
The servicing garage scanned for faults but reported no fault codes.
Could this be related to the diagnostic/reset procedure they carried out for the DPF additive system, or is there a known ETG6 issue that would cause it to drop from A to M while stationary?
Any advice or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Get it back to the garage and get the diagnostic redone and make sure they do it completely ive checked against a similar issue as you have and it points for the diagnostic not done properly.
Other things ive seen and read mention disconnecting the battery for over 10 minutes this clears any memory buffers apparently. Then reconnect the battery , but I'd say if it works great but the best bet would be get it back to the garage ask for someone who knows how to use the diagnostic properly

Husky.

Re: 2014 Grand C4 Picasso ETG6 – Automatic mode switches to Manual
Thanks for your suggestion, i called them and took it back in today, they were resistant and to be fair they didnt want to reset the code as part of the service when i asked them originally but they still had a go.
Today they managed to clear the codes and told me he set 0.95 to DPF fluid reading. The error on the diagnostic has cleared from
P1583 — Additive addition: Calculated additive level below the critical threshold — Permanent fault
P1446 — Additive addition: Calculated additive level below the critical threshold — Permanent fault
To now
B1811 96 Fault in Diesel fuel additive pump - present
P1434 Multiplexed additive pump -fault pump - intermittant
I asked them to replace the pump if they think its faulty, they responded they dont work on DPF or Auto repairs.
So at this point I have brought it away since they are not confident in fixing what i have.
I have invested in a Lexia and Diagbox and waiting for it to be delivered, not afraid to get my hands dirty if I have a good i can fix it.
Is it clearly a faulty pump issue or could it still be a code reset issue?
Any help appreciated
