Energy Economy Mode activated and Stop Start disabled Peugeot Traveller Blue HDI 1.5

Unread post by DanG81 »

Hi,

My Peugeot Traveller 2018 Blue HDI 1.5 I has an issue with energy economy mode active constantly and no stop start also has a check engine light. These are the only symptoms. Car starts and drives fine

I have code U1218 related to CAN bus

Has anyone had this problem? Is it possibly related to the intelligent battery status module? Battery is only 18 months old and has good voltage

Any help greatly appreciated

Cheers

Does it show Economy mode constantly on the screen? This should clear once the engine starts, if it doesn't then the BSI is not getting the signal that the voltage has risen as the alternator starts charging. Do all the lights / wipers work?

U1218 is a generic Comms fault - this has come up before but I don't know we ever got to the bottom of it. Somewhere a module is not communicating, but engine ECU doesn't tell you which one. You need a decent scan tool to look at/in all the ECUs to try and figure out which one is in trouble.
