Good morning,
I’m hoping someone who knows more about these engines can help. I have an intermittent P0087 code come up in my Berlingo 1.6 HDI 75. It tends to only be when I boot it.
I’ve read some bits in this and other forums, the fuel filter had been changed within the last 200 miles or so. Now I’m suspecting the fuel pressure regulator, the sensor itself or leaky injectors.
Can anyone make heads or tails of this combined graph from my scan tool? Both lines look fairly comparable. If you look towards the left of the tracing the actual fuel pressure is slightly below requested but didn’t trigger the fault code. The one on the right did.
Just hoping someone can decipher the graph and point me in a direction of most likely culprit.
Thanks!

Both traces indicate a sluggish regulator to me meaning it is slow to change under sudden demand. A thorough clean may solve it .
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

I’m taking it to the IOW next week and dont want to start messing with the fuel system before hand as Sod’s Law it will go from running with EML light to not running at all! I will give it a go when I’m back and update! Thanks mate.mickthemaverick wrote: 06 Jul 2026, 14:30 Both traces indicate a sluggish regulator to me meaning it is slow to change under sudden demand.
