Hi, i have a Citroen C3 (third generation) from 2017. its a petrol with 110 hs engine. After buying it used from a car dealer i found out that the engine has been damaged somehow and had it changed. The ''new'' engine is from a peugeot 208 from 2019 (mechanic said from the very end of 2019, almost 2020, i think its from a first generation peugeot 208) also 110 hs petrol but that car had an automatic gearbox unlike my manual gearbox. Does that change anything?
The mechanic that changed the engine claims that the donor vehicle was a crash test car and i actually saw a photograph of the car smashed in the front right side but looked like a small impact that didnt rattle the engine part too much... the engine costed me 1400 euros and the mechanic says he suspects that engine cannot have more than 2000 km mileage...
Anyway, after changing the engine, my brother, who drove the car before me, claims that the new engine is somewhat ''weaker'', as in the car is not as punchy and quick-started as it used to be... the new engine uses a different oil now. 0W-20 while the older version used 5W-30. I wanted to ask, is there a difference in the engine after they ''updated'' it? Maybe they tuned it somehow??
btw the old engine had an orange coloured oil dipstick, while the ''new'' peugeot 208 engine has a caramel-coloured oil dipstick... The new engine is a HN05.
Now i got conflicting information about the oil. The mechanic claims its the 0w-20, but i see on the internet it says PSA changed it to 5W-30. so which is it? what oil should i use? I already used Total Quartz 0W-20 PSA B71 2010 for 2 years almost... i also installed a new wet belt 2 years ago , a Continental ct1228.

With the information you provided, you cannot get the right answer. Is your current engine CITROËN C3 III (SX) 1.2 THP 110 hp / 81 kW 2016 - 2026 HNV (EB2DTM) ?
If it is that one, then 5W30 oil FPW9.55535/03 is appropriate .
And you can check it yourself at: viewtopic.php?t=75918
