U0140 fault

Unread post by KOBIKA24 »

Hi friends
I have a Citroen C5 2014
I started having a problem after I connected the LED lamps in the door trim with the original Citroen boxes according to the manual
9683072780
Is there anything I can do to prevent this problem from appearing? Maybe a diode resistor or something? Any ideas?

Whenever you replace standard lamps with LEDs you usually have to connect a balancing resistor in series so the unit presents the same load to the ECU which keeps it happy. Your supplier of the LEDs should be able to give the the details of the resistor required. :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

I would be happy to explain what it is supposed to do. Is there a resistor inside this original box that is compatible with the system?
Because the video of the guide doesn't say anything about adding a resistor.

What problems are you having since you have not said apart from U0140 in the topic title ? If you remove the LED lamps and fit back the original ones do the problems go ?

I didn't try to download it. I'm sure that's the problem because it happened right after I installed them. I drove the car for a while and there wasn't this problem. The engine fault light comes on. And that's just the problem that appears in the fault scan. I delete it. Everything turns off. After a few starts, it comes back.

May be worth fitting load resistors, easy way to determine if that is the problem.

I bought LEDs for my reversing lights that were hopeless as they were.
They came with 50W 6RJ load resistors. Never used them as the car was presumably not CAN bus (Honda Civic)
Not expensive. Just one example from eBay.

I disconnected them and the problem came back.
