I've run into a problem with the Electronic Power Steering on my 2017 Grand C4 Picasso (B78, facelift).
After old one was broken, a pre-configured replacement steering rack was installed.
The car runs fine sometimes, but then suddenly it runs into a complete fault chain. U1213 or U1212 is usually involved.
Clearing the codes is possible with some persistence but they usually come back fairly quickly.
Contacts have been checked multiple times. I've also fitted a new battery and performed a battery reset via Diagbox. Not the cause.
Suspicion is growing that the steering rack software is from a pre-facelift version of the GP2. Mine is definitely a 2017 build year.
What I read with my VMware Diagbox 9.91:
VIN: VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
BSI software 05.71 (96 927 195 80)
Replacement EPS DAE_BVH2: Hardware ID 98 201 566 80, Calibration Number 96 923 733 80, Edition of the Calibration FF.03, SW version D0.11
Can anyone confirm that this EPS software is from the pre-facelift generation?
Thanx in advance!
BTW: Yes, we do drive Citroëns over here — mostly the ones with a bunch of kids. The others go for BMW.
