Trouble Activating Cruise Control on Citroën C3 1.5

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to enable cruise control on my Citroën C3 1.5 2013 Origine (Mercosur model, ECU Valeo 34.4). I’ve installed the stalk correctly, and when I activate it the display shows “CRUISE PAUSE” along with two lines. However, pressing any button just makes the lines blink—nothing else happens. This occurs even when I’m in 4th/5th gear above 60 km/h, and even at highway speeds (tested at 130 km/h).

Both my personal mechanic and the official Peugeot/Citroën service center attempted to configure it via Diagbox (versions 7.8 and 9.x). In both cases, the ECU refuses to switch from “absent” to “present”. The BSI accepted the change without issue, but the ECU simply won’t allow it.

The official service center even connected directly to the PSA server, but still no luck.

So my questions are:

Could this be an interface issue?

Is it related to the Diagbox version?

Or is it simply that this specific ECU model doesn’t support cruise control activation at all?

Has anyone dealt with this before? My mechanic installs these modules regularly, and even he’s surprised there’s no way to make it work.

Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Is this a diesel or a petrol? We don't have a 1.5 here in the UK - but it's known that some versions of the 1.6 Diesel ECUs (usually affecting Berlingos) don't have the capability for cruise control.

It's a petrol car. I believe in EU the models is called "Citröen C3 MK2". They shipped this 1.5 80hp version and the 1.6 115hp for the most feature-riched models.
