C5X battery life

Unread post by slodder »

just bought a hybrid '22 C5X and the traction battery when fully charged says it has a range of 22 miles, which is much lower than the spec; is this real world or is there something wrong?
thanks

Welcome to the forum, there are a few of these cars on here so stick around.

Sorry to say the range you get in the UK is nowhere near what the spec says.
I live middle England, in winter I get 19k(ish), and last summer low 30's. However, I have had a trip (10+ miles) and achieved over 4.0m/kW which equates to 44 mile range.
Just a few notes,
1, don't believe the read out on the dash, it's affectionately known as the guess-o-meter (GOM). If you really want to know the range, zero a trip meter, and drive until the engine kicks in, after the engine starts you should get another miles or so.
2, If the car has been on a forecourt for a while and only driven short trips the range will be less. You need to fully charge and drive to 0% a few times to change the logarithms.
3, There are three batteries, the two 12volt ones (underbonnet & in the centre armrest) need to be kept charged, if the car thinks they need topping up it will start the engine and you will get an error message "Electric Mode Unavailable" don't panic let the car do it's thing.
