The car is the 207cc, 1.6l petrol, 2008.
The driver's door lock has failed, mechanically. I've sourced an new one from a scrapy. My problem is getting the failed one off. Haynes Manual and Utube have plenty about the standard body 207 and how to get the lock off which is pretty similar to other cars I've done this on. But the CC has a longer door and has a side impact tube fitted on the inside, right at the level of the key lock mounting bracket, which needs to come off to release the linking cable to the lock mechanism. There is also an upright of the window regulator/guide in the same area and it has a substantial bracket at the top. Just no space to pass the key lock mounting bracket.
It looks like the whole window regulator mechanism/guides needs to be removed to create enough space.
Has anyone done this job before, is there a way to do it without taking out the window regulator?
Or can anyone confirm the regulator has to come off?
Any advice appreciated.

Re: 207cc Driver's Door Lock Replacement
I have had a look round for some info on this without success I'm afraid. It might be an idea to visit a reputable bodyshop and ask one of the technicians ther for advice?
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
