Corner Tapping

Hi,
just bought a Citroen ZX Provence on an M plate and am very happy with the purchase. The only fault i can find is when i pull away hard onto a roundabout or left hand curve, i get a knocking sound from the front. This disappers if you take your foot off of the accelerator or drive onto a straight. I also have a small but nearly un-noticable leak from the front as well. I have been lead to believe that it may be something to do with the drive shaft but as i know nothing about cars i could be being told porkies. Has anyone got any ideas about this...

It does indeed sound like the outer CV joint on your driveshaft. Couuld you be a bit more specific about the leak? Is it engine area, gearbox, under the wheelarch etc?

thanks for the quick reply. The oil leak is coming from around the centre of where the engine is but not from the sump plug. It seems to be behind that and upwards out of view???
