I've just bought a Chinese esim adapter to try to use it in an internal car telephone (NG4). My mobile operator provides an "extra esim" option that let's me to use the same phone number at max 6 devices. (I use one on my smartwatch). I installed an esim on the adapter using an old phone (android) and it worked perfectly (both phones rang together at incomng call).
Then I moved the adapter to the car and while trying to switch it to internal phone I had an "missing sim card" warning.
Has anyone tried to use such an adapter in the inbuit car telephone succesfully? What adapter was it (mine is Xesim X2)? Did you have to change anything in the sim slot in the car to make it work?
Not a big deal, as NG4 has a bluetooth telephone option but still I can see some advatages of internal phone such as better coverage due to the car GSM antenna or the possibility of having shorter, easier to use while driving, adressbook. Not to mention the cars with older telematics systems such as RT3 or RT4 with internal phone only whose users will greatly benefit from such a solution.
Any advice?
P.S. I Checked the adapter with an old Nokia E52 phone (I liked it so it was still in the drawer
PS II. If I succeed I will inform you.
