Hi everyone, I’m Ron, and I’m landing here after struggling a bit to find a community that actually talks about French brands specifically, not just cars in general. Basically, I grew up with a father who worked at a dealership and always had Renaults in the driveway... so obviously, that rubbed off on me a bit, I’ll admit. But I’m not here just for nostalgia; it’s because I recently started getting interested in the industrial history of these brands—the technical choices they made at certain times, why Peugeot went in one direction in the '80s while Citroën was doing something completely opposite... honestly, there are some crazy stories behind all that. What I'm passionate about right now is especially the era of great Citroën innovations the hydropneumatic suspension, the DS back when it blew everyone away at the Paris Motor Show... I think French engineers of that period had something really special, a way of thinking about cars that was just different from anywhere else. A bit over the top in terms of ambition, if you know what I mean. Anyway, I’m mostly going to read at first, see how things work around here, and what topics keep coming up. I have questions about some specific models but nothing urgent; I'm still learning.

Looking forward to reading your posts and chatting with people who share this specific thing we have for French cars.

There are many subjects under discussion on both the cars and other things in the Off Topic Chat Lounge (OTCL) where you will find all sorts of information, amusement, entertainment and even some unusual topics.
