Hi,
currently on autotrader there is few 2.0i C5 MK1 after facelift. I am driving boring 2016 Toyota, which is perfect, but I had 2 C5 in the past, and I wish to have another one (instead of Toyota)...
I wonder if its very stupid idea? How is the part market atm? I am able to diagnose and change some stuff with the car - which can save lot of money, but idea is to have car that most of the time is in drivable state.
For example, I remember there is someone who is doing alternative suspension hoses etc.
Buying 2007 C5 as day ride - is it crazy?

I miss my Mk1 C5s a lot from a driving point of view, but I don't miss the almost weekly little jobs that crop up with them. Well maintained and looked after they are great cars but if you have got too used to the Toyota, start it, drive it, park it life then you will need more time to look after a C5. I now have a Subaru Legacy 2.5 SEN which is also a great car to drive with no tendencies for continual tinkering. As for parts there are some places that can still supply most parts that the dealer network no longer support eg Chevronics in Hitchin . Good luck whatever you decide
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!
