Citroen C5 Tourer 2010 electrical problems

Hi, I am new to the forum and not a car expert. However, I have had a Citroen C5 Tourer 2010 diesel from near new. In the last couple of years it has started to have electrical faults. Starts with ESP light coming on, then abs, speed needle drops to zero, then all flicks back to normal. This happened and my mechanic initially put it on his computer, could not identify the problem, then took it to a specialist electrical mechanic who again could not identify the problem. The car had no problems for a further 12 months, with the same problem returning ESP, followed by ABS then power steering, then pollen warning lights - this was intermittent until two weeks ago when the car would not restart. Followed some basic instructions, all fuses ok, earthing cables all ok, battery fully charged and charging, removed battery over night and the car restarted but in what appears to be limp mode, no power steering and esp etc warning lights back on. About 2 months ago the mechanic put a refurbed BSI unit and this corrected the problem only to return. Any advice before the scrap yard is called?

One thing that is always worth a try before giving up is to carry out a BSI reset according to the procedure in the link below. It is best to disconnect the battery, charge overnight and then refit according to that procedure. Once that is done if there are still issues you can carry out a diagnostic scan on the refreshed system and see what codes emerge:
