Ds5 electrical mode unvailable
Hello, I have a Citroen DS5 I bought it with a hybrid failure car does'n start, the problem was the hybrid inverter, I replaced it by cloning and wrote down all the configurations. I put in a brand new 12V battery, replaced the thermostat because it was not maintaining the temperature normally, and I bled the system with a special vacuum device. The car starts up, says ready and runs on electricity, just press the gas, the diesel engine starts, the engine idles, and runs on electricity. The hybrid pump spins and works, all temperatures are still good. There are no HCU1 andbHCU2 errors. I did a timing reset because it was parked for a long time. I don't understand where to look for problems anymore. One time was good, I started it and it ran on electricity, it would go on electic when needed, start up enginen when needed, I was already happy that everything worked, but too quickly. Do you have any ideas?

I am not sure what the current situation is from reading your post?

there is problem, that both engine working and dont drive only on electrice mode like normal hybdrid. If you start car choose zev everything is fine until you step on the gas, jump on Auto and both engine working..the diesel just idles, screen shows that drive on EV until you reach 40-50km and then goes in engine mode. If I stop, the engine doesn't stall.mickthemaverick wrote: 13 Apr 2026, 14:24 I am not sure what the current situation is from reading your post?![]()

I am no expert in the modern hybrid vehicles but that sounds to me like the engine is running in charging mode while your speed is low and then takes over traction mode as you speed up. I may be wrong but that sounds like a viable means of hybrid operation to me! You'll have to wait for a better informed member I'm afraid!

Can you drive with the engine off on then electric power only? Then does the engine recharge the traction battery? If both answers are yes then I would assume the invertor is working properly.
Next, thing i would check it's the 12volt battery, when checking with a volt meter, it should be somewhere around 14.4volts with engine running and 12.5-12.8volts at rest, below 12.3v it will need replacing. In my experience, modern Citroëns don't like weak batteries, it's possible your car could be sensing the battery is weak/low so it decides to run the engine to recharge it.

The car doesn't run on electricity, it only runs for 2-3 seconds until you touch the gas pedal. The hybrid battery charges while you're driving, sometimes it charges when you're standing still, sometimes it doesn't. The 12v battery was bought brand new. And with the 12v battery everything is ok, it charges well. But I found one thing, that when connected to the abs system, it throws a p1182 error and while you do the abs system diagnostics and the error is on the dashboard due to the diagnostics, the car runs on electricity as perfectly as possible. P1182 servo brake sensor, I'll figure it out tomorrow and let you know.Sloppysod wrote: 13 Apr 2026, 16:46 Can you drive with the engine off on then electric power only?
