DS4 airintake

Unread post by rrijken »

All,

Have a 2013 DS4 with the 1.6thp engine. Car has been running on 3 cylinders so parked for some time now. Ran fine but with a very bad chain rattle. Changed the chain and car drove ok for 1 week, same again. Changed the cam sensor and car ran again fine for 1 week then same problem again plus the car telling me that fuel pressure was low. Swapped the HPFP with a new one from stellantis and the car drove fine for half a day and then it was down to 3 cylinders again. Swapped out spark plugs, coils, VVT solenoid and crank sensor. Now car runs ok with sometimes a hickup but car is still undriveable as when I put it in drive it starts to splutter then go, then splutter again...

I am at the end of my wits.... Only thing I can think of right now is that unmetered air is entering somewhere. What is the pipe called that goes onto the throttle body? Throttle body side has a rubber ring where the edge is ripped, so this ring might not be sealing correctly anymore and whenever I hit the accelerator it sucks in extra air there..... It is the pipe on the left of the engine (black charge hose (number 7) to straight pipe with sensor (number 5) over the engine, to a pipe that goes to the throttle body (unnumbered)).

Looked online everywhere but cannot seem to find it!

Have you asked at a DS dealer? :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Have you been doing all the diagnoses yourself and replacing parts hoping to get it right without spending too much ? If so you might be better getting a dealer to do a diagnostic check and see what is wrong. Do you have any fault codes ?

A search on DS4 1.6 thp turbo inlet pipe A as in the photo you attached suggests it might be part number 1440Q6 but your dealer will confirm this if you go there to buy one. The intercooler outlet pipe 7 might be 1440N5 and again your dealer will confirm this. As an example https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/167912898271 ... gKbcfD_BwE When you accelerate that pipe will be under pressure from the turbo so blowing out air whereas on tickover it will suck in air if it is leaking.
