If the engine has a coolant powered oil cooler then it may well be your problem, however the car is too new for me so I cannot offer any advice. Good luck
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Re: Citroen ds4 1.6 litre turbo engine
Possibilities could include
- a water pump fault so it is not circulating the coolant. Was it replaced when you fit the cylinder head back ? A search suggests water pump faults are common on the EP6 engine. Try your own search on 'EP6 engine water pump fault'. This could have been the original problem that caused the head gasket to fail and possibly the cylinder head to warp if it overheated.
- the new head gasket is leaking. You could use a coolant exhaust gas tester (combustion leak tester), they do not cost much.
- the radiator is blocked so the coolant is not being cooled. See if its top and bottom hoses are the same temperature - the bottom one should be a lot cooler than the top one.
- the thermostat is not opening - the radiator top hose should start to get warm as the engine heats up, probably about 90°C.
