Hi, recently received gearbox fault (service) on a semi auto C4 GP. Using Topdon it revealed P17BE -
Gear Selection Actuator Locking Control, Open Circuit and U1310 - Fault In Communication With The Gearbox Electrical Control ECU. Car drives and i'm able to select P R N D M. What I observed is that when I'm driving at around 40mph the service light disappears. Fault comes back intermittently. Would appreciate your thoughts/experience please with thanks.

My first reaction would be to check the plugs on the gearbox and at the ECU end. Possibly damp or dirty?
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Thanks Mick. As a novice, this is my first time to explore the gearbox ecu. Any recommendations on where to access the unit? Thanks again.

I'm afraid I have never worked on one so no idea. There are members with the right experience so hopefully one of them will help out. Good luck

Re: P17BE Gearbox Faulty Actuator Open
Quick update and hopefully this helps other aisin gearbox users. I have been driving the car for a few weeks with intermittent service beeps due to U1310 and P17BE error codes. Using my topdon OBD2 reader the said errors came about as intermittent, temporary or permanent and kept canceling the faults. When service fault appear ( gearbox fault), the car had been driveable, however, cruise control and limiter cannot be used. Did a 200 mile journey with the family and went ok. P17BE appeared in Peugeot TSB in 2017 (based on internet research). I replaced a 4year old battery (no success); checked the wiring leading to gearbox ecu and did not find obvious wire breaks and ended up wrapping up exposed wires with self amalgamating tape (no success); tried replacing the gearshift selector on top of the steering wheel with second hand part (more faults appeared)....and then found a write up somewhere in the inter web....whilst car was idling ( just about to park the car), I engaged parking brake and placed the gearshift selector to N, released the brake pedal then turned off the engine and shifted gearshift selector to P and locked the car. The following morning, no service beeps heard and drove the car for a few days. Deleted OBD errors and car has been running fine since. Fingers crossed.
