DS5 battery mismatch

Unread post by tomjyoutwit »

Afternoon all,

My chassis number says I require a stop start battery- as do the online tools but I am not a stop start vehicle? There is currently a non stop start in the vehicle. What battery do I in fact need please?

Where are you entering your chassis number to be told it needs a start/stop battery?
I'd fit a Yuasa YBX5096 if that helps!! :)

This is my opinion, the information in green is very important, the yellow, however, is not so and should be thought of as as minimum. Being a Diesel, I would buy one with a little more CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) if possible, as it could be usefull in the winter, if you can.

Yes I agree there Stu which is why I went for the 5096 to get an extra 40A cranking :)

My daughters C3 needed a new battery in January 2025. It was also confusing with some saying it needed a stop-start battery.
The one fitted wasn't and wasn't a particularly good one, it may have been a dreaded ECP 'Lion' battery.
The car doesn't have stop start so I bought a Yuasa standard battery with greater capacity that was recommended. It has been fine, no problems whatsoever.
