C4 picasso gearbox not working

Hi. Have a picasso VF7**************[VIN obfuscated, can be read by forum staff]
It won't select gears, tries when lever moved for a second, clicks on the gearbox but it won't select.
The only fault is U1310-96 I disconnected the plug in the top of the gearbox and there is 12v on the big terminals to it, no rusty connections. Fault permanent won't clear. If I select manually (moving the lever on the gearbox)it shows correct on the screen.
Maybe the selector ? Is that on the top of the gearbox the gearbox ECU or just the selector? Any ideas of where to run?

The code suggests no comms with Gearbox ECU - is it talking on the network when you scan it? You appear to have power at the connector - is the earth good?

Seems like talking to it, the earth is good and when you request to set the neutral it says completed. Replaced the gear lever just in case, next will have to replace the actuator (believe that's the ECU)

Well , replaced the actuator and the fault changed to intermittent, cleared and attempted relearning but no luck, seems like is looking near to scrap, not sure what else I can do and for sure dropping it in a garage will come back with a new gearbox and maybe still not working

Tried to set positions for the lever and it says actuator blocked, any last option ideas?

It makes some noises so the actuator is trying to move but it won't, if I move the lever on the gearbox it shows the right gear but still won't work, might will be the actual gearbox in the end
