My citroen garage has normally done this on service, and I have never wanted to upset the applecart as I have not had adblue issues.
But, I need to get over it and top up the system myself at some point.
But I just wanted to check if there is any approved method, informed guidance or any things to avoid.
1) Is there a minimum amount you should top up with? (meaning, always top up in amounts of 5 litres or more) never small amounts?
2) To what level should one fill to in the Grand C4?
From what I understand it is very hard to see what level it is at. Do people fill until it overflows (or brim it as much as possible) or should you always try to leave a little gap?
I know some people also add wynns stuff and I may do that too.

Hopefully you'll find this video helpful
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Re: MK2 C4 Grand owners - Adblue filling Technique?
Yeh, i have seen similar videos and they all seem to show them filling it until they run out.
But what it does not seem to show is how easy it is to see what level the adblue gets to.
It was more asking if there was a best practice, other than just dumping load in.
I have a feeling some adblue issues are exacerbated by poor monitoring of the tank and correct filling methods.
I am also going to get myself one of these.

Which will make it much easier to pour from a large container while maintaining some control.

Re: MK2 C4 Grand owners - Adblue filling Technique?
I use a plastic measuring jug half filled and slowly fill until the level reaches the top of the filler neck.
I tend to keep the Adblue Tank filled, on the basis that on a previous post, Mark was of the view that a full tank was less likely to allow the pump and associated components to fail due to being dried out in the air in a half full tank.
This was only a theory of his, but I have adopted the practise.

I just stick 10 litres in ours when the light comes on - although ours is an earlier model with the filler inside the car. Make sure you use decent AdBlue that has not been stored on the garage forecourt in the sun!

Re: MK2 C4 Grand owners - Adblue filling Technique?
Our Cactus has to be filled up in the boot. I use funnels to avoid spillage, pouring it first into a 1½ litre bottle and then into the tank. A torch helps when looking in the tank to see when it is filling near the top. A large jug would probably be better than a bottle. I would not bother getting the filling pipe attachment, just more bother, you would need to lift the 10 litre container up for quite some time and also it would need washing out afterwards. You probably need 2 people to use it, one to lift the container and the other to hold the nozzle. The 308 filler is next to the fuel tank filler so a lot less hassle and poured straight from the 10 litre container with its plastic pipe.
I use the Wynns stuff, putting it in before the adblue but it does cause a bit of foam so slows down pouring in the adblue as the tank becomes full.
The adblue I put in at servicing time getting about 7 litres in to fill up which is enough for about 10k miles in the Cactus and about 6k miles in the 308. Last couple of years has been from GSF. Since it has a shelf life the unused amount is wasted.
