C3 Picasso instrument cluster not lighting up

Unread post by MJBGENT »

I've recently bought a C3 Picasso HDI 90 VTR+ 2016 reg and the instrument cluster is not lighting up. The speedo works fine and the radio also works fine but the left hand side LCD screen is totally blank. Can anyone shed any light on this for me ( :-D no pun intended). Cheers
Slight update the speedo back light is also not working.

Initially that sounds like a fuse has gone, have you checked in the handbook for a fuse chart? :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Thanks for the reply mickthemaverick. I did all the things they tell you to do on YouTube. First thing was the fuse - not that. Then re initialising the computer (which there's conflicting views on how to do so I tried them all - not that. Eventually I narrowed it down to a faulty cluster but then I couldn't get it off so I reverted to a professional. He confirmed it was a faulty cluster after managing to get it off and dismantling the unit. The circuit board was found to be corroded. I managed to get a used one from eBay for £50 and the Pro put it back on for me (and sorted a couple other niggles out while he was at it). Ended up costing me £190 in total but it's all sorted now and it was a dam sight cheaper than taking it to the dealer who quoted me a four figure sum. One again thanks for taking the time to reply to my initial post it's very much appreciated.
