Citroen nemo oil leak

Unread post by gsc1ugs »

I have a suspect small leak on crankshaft oil seal i think, still investigating but im pretty sure… is it a big job? Van is 63 plate with the 1.3 diesel engine.

Ive been told use WYNNS ENGINE STOP LEAK as anyone got any success stories using this?

The size of the job depends on which end of the crankshaft you are talking about. :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

If not already done the timing belt was due for replacement at 10 years old or a mileage if sooner. If it has to be done then the oil seal can be replaced at the same time since it will need removing to get to the crank shaft seal. If oil is getting on the belt it should be replaced anyway to avoid it failing.

Never used Wynns so unable to comment on it.

If you post just the letters from the vin the engine type can be looked up to see if it has a belt or a chain. If it is a chain then replacing the crank shaft seal will be a lot easier. If FHZ or FHY then it appears to have a chain.
