Citroen C4 Picasso drivers door wiring

Unread post by brickland04 »

I have a 2014 1.6 Picasso and the drivers door has started to not recognise whether it is open or shut. It still locks ok, windows and mirrors are all working. When I open the door the courtesy light does not come on, and when I try and lock the car, I have to open another door and then it locks fine.
How easy is it to check the wiring between the door and where it joins the car? It looks like it has a rubber boot over the wiring. How do I actually check the wiring inside?

You need to remove the door card and then maybe use an endoscope to inspect the wires in the rubber sleeving. You may find a problem in the switchgear before you get that far!! :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Have you tried pulling the ends of the boot to see if it will come out of the door or pillar ? You might also just move the boot about and see if it affects anything. Is their a door open message on the dash with the door open or closed or its latch closed around a screwdriver ? You may have a lock problem as the door lock position I believe is built into the lock.
