Xantia Brake pedal ?

Post by paranoid »

Could any Xantia owners please help?
Has anyone got a picture/diagram of the brake pedal assembly please, The problem is that the brake pedal flaps up and down a bit when you take your foot off the pedal and is getting very annoying due to new trainers having a rubber sole that sticks to the pedal rubber a little!!! Should there be a spring that holds it position etc? All is as it should be in the braking dept its just this bit of freeplay, At rest, pedal is fine etc but you can lift the pedal up about an inch or two up towards the steering wheel [:)]

That's normal (well, mine's the same anyway!). There is usually enough lift to get the plasic spring canister out the back of the pedal, which is about 2" long.

Yep - same here as well. There's a bit of slop left / right as well.
