2018 Citroën Berlingo DV6 – Cranks but won’t start

Hi all,

I’m after some advice with a 2018 Citroën Berlingo DV6 that’s currently cranking but not starting.

The van broke down just before Christmas and was recovered by the RAC. It had been running earlier that day doing tip runs. I added fuel before heading to the supermarket and then sat in a click-and-collect queue for around an hour, with the engine being on and off during that time. After that, it wouldn’t start.

Work already done / background:

Timing belt and water pump replaced in the summer

ECU previously sent away for repair after a crank/no-start issue (still under warranty), but I didn’t receive a report so I’m not sure exactly what was repaired

Crank position sensor replaced

Camshaft pulley replaced

Battery replaced a couple of weeks ago to rule out low-voltage issues

Current situation:

Engine cranks fine but won’t fire

RAC diagnostics showed the following fault codes:


P2148 – Injector Group A supply voltage circuit high
P2151 – Injector Group B supply voltage circuit high


The same codes still appear even when all injectors are unplugged

The RAC technician said it’s very unlikely to be the injectors themselves, as he mentioned he’s never seen both of these injector fault codes appear together before

I’ve checked all the fuses I can identify and they appear to be OK and giving readings

I’ve had a look at the wiring and cables that I can easily access and, to my eyes, they all look OK — but I’m definitely not in a position to say that rules anything out

If anyone has come across this before or can point me in the right direction for what to check next, I’d really appreciate it.

Did you delete the codes to see if they came back ? Before doing this though you should write down the freeze frame data that was recorded when the last code was given.

To check if the immobiliser is recognising the key put it in the ignition switch and open the driver's door - usually a warning is given but if not the key might not be recognised so it will still turn over but not run.

Thank you for this, i've have been testing with a multimeter and the readings are within a normal range, i will recheck and write down the readings though.

I've deleted the codes on a cheap reader but when i try to start the van i get the engine fault message and the codes are back. I haven't tried the freeze frame but i will do this tomorrow if it's possible with my reader/app

I will try the keys i have and see if any of them work. The one im using is the main fob that has the buttons, my spares are manual keys.

Since posting i did have another error code show but that went after deleting the codes and hasn't appeared since - P0003 Fuel Volume Regulator Control - Circuit Low If it's things i can check before it goes to the mechanic it becomes less of a headache for him
