Hi there,
My first post here so a newbie to the forum.
I tried to join the Berlingo forum but all sorts of issues going on there! No account activation email as yet... Been a couple of days!!
Anyhoo...
Berlingo Enterprise 2013 (van).
Hazard light switch doesn't work.
I've removed it from the dash (now have the cuts in my fingers) and taken it apart and it has a pcb so no springs or mechanisms that can be seen as faulty!
Don't want to get a new switch (£38 odd) if that's not the problem!
Any way to test this out or is it likely the switch?
Many thanks,
D

Re: Hazard switch not working?
Hello and welcome to the forum,
I had a quick look on ebay and there are loads of used switches on there for £15-20 which might be the best bet. As presumably all the indicators are working the problem can only be the switch or the hazards relay. I'd be tempted to go for the relay first as it is more likely to fail I would think!

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Re: Hazard switch not working?
Thanks for the reply and the welcome!
I too saw the used ebay switches but... If they go wrong then, good chance they're defective (I guess [shrug shoulders emoji])
Anyhoo... I've just grabbed my OBD reader to do further investigation... I also picked up the switch that's been in my drawer for a few days and plugged it back into the molex plug...
Lo and behold, it now works!
I sprayed it with WD contact cleaner which may have helped! Who knows?!
Testing it for a drive and using indicators and setting alarm etc before clicking it back into the console!!
Thanks for your help and to anyone else... Try spraying with cleaner and leaving unplugged for a couple of days.

Delighted you got a result! Nice work - welcome to the French car forum! I'm always amazed how corrosion works to make even the most factory looking connections unreliable or work for continuity but not load testing. I spray all contacts with contact cleaner by default these days.

Yep, I use it on boiler PCBs all the time.
Glad I didn't order a new switch
