Philips HiFi- need advice

Unread post by JackoJuaquo »

Hi,

Hoping someone on here has experienced similar and has found a solution.
My C5 has the Philips HiFi option, which seems to be working fine apart from the tweeters being very very quiet, now I thought perhaps they were all damaged but from reading other threads here it seems they are just very quiet in general.

I’ve tested the amplifier outputs on other tweeters I had from other cars and it drives them really well! I’d like to keep the HiFi amp and the rest of the system as it’s fine, but has anyone found tweeters that are similar spec to the Philips? More importantly how did you fit them to the plastic covers?
Thanks!

You may get some help from this company:

https://electromarket.co.uk/speakers/sp ... r-tweeters :)
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Just found good info from a different site-
The Philips tweeters all eventually suffer this issue, low output, due to glue not holding the diaphragm in position. Probably fixable, however the Denon Tweeters from the DS4 and DS5 are pretty much exact replacements including mounting and connector and are much more available
