Nemo Still eating front tyres

Hi Folks car got moted 5-6 jan

Advisory 3mm on front tyres

Spoke to the mot garage as i got them to fit tyres back in the summer 25

Front tyres seem to be suffering 5k on this set
Had the car about 3 years and got through 3 sets of front tyres

Back only changed once

Car has 49k on it now so have done about 24k miles since owning

Garage says get rid of it

this is an automatic/well automatic manual

Maybe need to try different brands

Had falkens 2 sets
now some chinise

Try a better spec tyre is where I would go

Is the wearing even across the tread width or more on outer edge/ both edges?
How, err, "spirited" is your driving style?

Years ago I have had very cheap seemingly hard tyres that lasted ages (Wanli - they may be reformulated now and better than they were then!) but had poor grip, I've also had very cheap tyres that were ok for grip but so soft and soon wore out.

Some questions answered, still some no answer:
Is tread wear even? No, inner and outer edges

Agree with conclusions on other thread, low pressure is possible.

What pressures are quoted on the door pillar sticker? I'd guess a van would have loaded and empty figures even for the front that could be a fair variation.

Does your van run full mostly or not carrying much weight?

Do you keep on top of the pressure checking? Fortnightly? Monthly?

Have you tried upping the pressures a little to see if wear more evenly?

Thoughts on your own driving style? Laid back or setting new lap record on each trip?

When one of my customers was suffering from poor mileage on his tyres Michelin service came out and weighed the vehicle and recommended tyres to replace them with, his tyres went from wearing out at around 3k miles up to 30k.
I don't know if they still offer that service but they do have a range of tyres specially for light commercials and a help chat line on their website.

Hi Well its a people carrier but never carry any people
Mostly would carry mobility scooters so would be heavy but not massively
Surely wouldnt i see heavy ware on the rears
Dont check massively often
Well its a semi auto never going to be a rocket
These chinise its even
Falkens heavy on sidewalls

Have you tried to check if your pressure gauge is accurate, ones on foot pumps are way out, a separate digital one might be best. No idea if ones at petrol stations are any good but the pressures are meant to be checked with cold tyres so driving before checking will result in pressures being set too low.

Not sure about the rules now but when I ran my garage business and before when I worked for a dealership trading standards officers periodically at the same time as checking the petrol pumps for accuracy also checked the tyre pump gauge.
